I was on my way to the old churches at Killeavy when I came across this striking ruin, standing against a blue sky and rapidly being enveloped by the most beautiful shades of green it would have been a waste if I hadn’t stopped. St Luke’s Church, near Meigh in Co. Armagh was built in 1831, the church was only in use for just over 100 years and was eventually deconsecrated in 1973. Unfortunately it was impossible gain access to the inside of the church, but seeing as it stands on the main road from Killeavy to Meigh its well worth a visit if passing nearby.
