Killeek Graveyard, Dublin, Ireland

Killeek Graveyard is four kilometres west of the town of Swords in North County Dublin. Information about this church and graveyard is very sparse. It is noted as a medieval graveyard with pre 18th century grave markers. The earliest legible headstone dates from 1754 and burials continued up into the 20th century. The majority of burials seem to be family plots associated with the local area. Even Lewis’ Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (1838) has little to say and simply put it as, ‘there are some remains of the church’. Though at least this does give us an understanding that the church must have already been quite ruinous by the early 1800s.
