The Protestant church at Ballinaclough is a Board of First Fruits funded structure built in 1815. It is situated adjacent to the ruined medieval church. It comprises of an octagonal-plan nave with bay side elevations and a three stage tower to its west. The tower has attractive castellations and pinnacles. Ballinaclough was once a far more substantial settlement than its current status suggests, the former mill and a castle being evidence of this. In 1837 Samuel Lewis recorded the population as 1149 whereas by 2006 this had reduced to 654. I am unsure of when exactly the church closed but could see that the last baptism was recorded in 1978.
