Odagh Church, Kilkenny, Ireland

The church at Odagh in County Kilkenny is certainly one of the most attractive Board of First Fruits churches I have come across in recent years. It is situated down a field track, walled off in the middle of a pleasant field. It dates from 1796 and was in use until the late 1950s. The church has some beautiful neo-gothic styling with a lovely narrow entranceway, lancet windows with sharp pointed arches and crennellations to the bell tower.  It was unroofed at some point during the 1980s and in 2012 planning permission was given to turn it into a two bed home. It is evident a lot of work was undertaken with this in mind however it appears building work has stalled and the church stands idle.
